Volunteers donate their precious time to provide essential support services so that Deliver the Dream can fulfill its mission. Filling a variety of roles throughout the organization, volunteers leave an ever-lasting impression on those they meet.
Family Retreat Volunteers
Family Retreat volunteers assist in creating a safe and carefree environment for retreat families. Volunteers stay on site for the entire three-day, two-night retreat weekend with food and lodging provided.
Volunteer responsibilities can include:
- Greeting families upon arrival
- Engaging with families during therapeutic activities
- Assisting facilitators with program activities
- Setting up and breaking down rooms and activities
- Helping families have the absolute best experience possible!
To be considered for a Family Retreat volunteer, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Complete the online application
- Pass a background check
- Participate in a zoom introduction session and a 1-hour orientation.
- Adhere to COVID-19 protocols
- Commit to the entire retreat schedule (Friday at 8:00 am – Sunday at 2:00 pm)
Family Fun Day Volunteers
During this fun-filled program families come together in an enriching environment were they create unique activities for an enjoyable experience for all! Volunteer responsibilities can include:
- Program set-up and breakdown
- Greeting and directing families
- Assisting families with activities
- Supporting staff with programs
Special Event Volunteers
Throughout the year, Deliver the Dream hosts a variety of exciting events to raise funds that support our programs. Signature events, like our annual Denim and Diamonds Gala, require a significant number of volunteers, responsibilities can include:
- Event set-up and breakdown
- Silent and live auction help
- Registration assistance
- Greeting and directing guests
- Raffle ticket sales
Deliver the Dream Internships
Ideal candidates for our internship program are independent self-starters who have highly developed interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others. Being detail orientated and skilled in managing multiple projects is a must. Strong organizational, communication, verbal and written skills are important. A high level of computer aptitude and a working knowledge of social media is necessary. Day-to-day work may consist of:
- Coordinating at least one in-person and one virtual program
- Soliciting silent auction items
- Creating marketing materials
- Working with the data management software
- Assisting with volunteer orientations
- Networking at outreach events
