When will I know if my family is selected to attend a Deliver the Dream retreat?

All eligible retreat applications will be entered into an applicant lottery system to select the final retreat participants. Retreat participants are notified by Deliver the Dream within 3-business days of the retreat application deadline. Space is limited, so please submit your application and subsequent information on time. A completed application does not guarantee acceptance into the family retreat program.

Are there any restrictions on the family retreat?

Yes. We do have a few rules.

  1. Family retreats are an alcohol and drug-free environment.
  2. Pets are not allowed in the family retreat program.
  3. All family members must attend and participate in all family retreat activities.
  4. Once on the family retreat grounds, we ask that you do not leave the property.
  5. Most importantly, Have Fun!

What happens if someone in my family is not feeling well during the retreat?

Deliver the Dream has a medical professional on staff during each family retreat, available 24/7 to administer first aid for minor bumps and bruises. In the event of an emergency, our medical professionals will assist in getting your family member to a local hospital.

What does the family retreat cost?

Nothing! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and partners in the community, Deliver the Dream covers 100% of the lodging, activity, and group meal expenses. Families are only responsible for their transportation to and from the retreat location.

Where is the family retreat located?

Family retreats are offered at one of our select venues. Each venue is miles away from the hustle and bustle of the busy and overcrowded city, located in rustic surroundings where natural beauty creates the perfect atmosphere for a fun-filled retreat.

Where will my family stay during the retreat?

Each family stays in a hotel-like room with two double beds and a private bath. Deliver the Dream will delegate multiple rooms per family depending upon the number of family members participating in the retreat. Linens and towels are provided. Rooms may not be equipped with a TV or telephone, however, Wi-Fi is available in the main building.

What will we eat at our retreat?

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided daily and served buffet style in the main dining hall.

What type of activities will we be participating in at our retreat?

Your family will participate in therapeutic structured activities, such as an assortment of both indoor and outdoor recreational activities, discussion groups, interactive games, creative workshops, teambuilding exercises, and more! Ample time is provided for relaxation, connecting with new and supportive friends, and spending time with your loved ones.

Are there age-specific activities?

Most of our retreat activities center around the inclusiveness of the entire family unit. However, there are times when family members will be split into groups based on age and illness/crisis/disability. A supervised daycare called the “Kids Corner” is available at each family retreat for children ages 6-weeks to 1st grade, while parents participate in adult-specific activities. Youth age 2nd grade to 12-years and teens age 13 to 18 will participate in separate age-appropriate activities throughout the retreat weekend.
